My Local, Water Lane

My Local supermarket has nominated Wilmslow Wells for Africa as their charity for the year. Our collecting boxes are by their tills and in the first month £63 was collected. Thanks to Darren, the Charity organiser, and the other staff for organising this.

“Gifted”

The annual ‘Gifted’ event again passed on the £65 donated for refreshments at their event.

Fulshaw WI Makers Market

Donna Johnstone manned a stall at the Fulshaw WI Makers Market and raised £40.

All U Need, Lindow Parade

This local shop continues to raise money for us from their adverts, as well as donating items of food for Gardens Day.

Churches Together in Wilmslow, Harvest Appeal

This raised nearly £11,000, sufficient for seven hand dug wells in Uganda. At the following Artisan Market the churches also organised an event to raise awareness of our charity. This all surpassed any of our expectations and we are very grateful. http://www.wilmslow.co.uk/news/article/12507/water-carriers-highlight-charity-appeal

AGM November 2nd 2015

Forty people attended the AGM. Carolyn Mitchell from Build it International described some of the ways that they sought to transform communities in Zambia. WWA had in the last year funded boreholes for poor communities in Mwala and Katuba in the Kapiri district as part of their clean water initiatives.  Alex Jabore, whilst showing pictures from her walk, gave an account of some of the highs and lows and occasional difficulties in following her route. She answered many questions and was warmly congratulated on an amazing achievement and greatly thanked for the funds she had raised for Wilmslow Wells.

Bridge Drive at Morley Green Club, November 12th.
