Please join us to celebrate 40 years since Wilmslow Wells was founded.
6.00-7.00 Many supporters of our charity will be gathering in the Halls behind the Church where savoury light refreshments will be served (for donations). The book which describes our story to date will be launched. Copies are priced at £10, and 100% of this cost will be a donation to help us continue providing clean water sources for African villagers, because all the book production costs have been covered by generous donors. There is no admission charge for this event.
7.30 -9.30 In the Church, the Barnby Choir will present Water Music, their summer concert specially themed to support our anniversary. Because we expect this event to be a sell-out, we advise that tickets are booked in advance from Shan (01625 520193 or shan@shanbristow.co.uk) Tickets cost £12 (students £5, children free).
Our founder and her husband, Brenda and Keith Mottershead, were members of this choir for many years and we are delighted that the Barnby Choir are joining our celebrations, although proceeds of this concert will be retained to cover the choir’s expenses.
Over these years, this small local charity has raised and provided over £1.6M to enable more than 350 projects, bringing fresh water and associated benefits to more than half a million people in some of the most deprived rural areas in some 20 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Much has developed and improved in so many places through this time. Much more remains to be done and can be done with your continued support.
