About Us
Wilmslow Wells for Africa
About Wilmslow Wells for Africa We are a volunteer run direct action charity working to provide water to African communities. We operate in collaboration with trusted u0026#038; experienced partner organisations both here at home and in Africa. In spite of our name recent projects frequently use water harvesting and storage as an alternative way to deliver safe, clean water to communities. The charity was started by Brenda Mottershead after she had seen at first hand the desperate problems in an African village. You can read more in the ‘How We Started’ pages. Our President and Trustees As well as enthusiasm and commitment we are fortunate in having significant experience and professional capability in our organisation, ensuring that the money we raise is used carefully and effectively. David Cash – Chair David has lived in Wilmslow since 1984. His first involvement with WWfA was in 2002 when he ran the London Marathon to raise funds. A few years later in 2006, he and his wife first opened their garden as part of Gardens Day, an event they have participated in from time to time ever since.
